Queen Legion

Due to popular demand from the enormous devoted Legion of Queen fans, we are proud to present the Queen tribute act show aptly named QUEEN LEGION. It’s a live, modern-day, musically stellar tribute to the music of Queen. The 90-minute show endeavors to capture and emulate the energy, spirit, essence, and soul of what Queen and the late, great legendary frontman Freddie Mercury were all about, as interpreted by frontmen Fernando Castro or JR Severn, and the QL band. Depending on the region, date, and availability, either cast member is equally capable of delivering an outstanding performance on stage, as each singer brings their own unique entertainer qualities to the table.

Fernando Castro is the first-ever Freddie Mercury tribute artist to headline on the Las Vegas Strip for Legends in Concert. He has successfully completed three Las Vegas residencies, singing LIVE six nights a week at the Tropicana, and has toured extensively around the world. Fernando has received praise and acclaim for his portrayal of Freddie in numerous publications, including Las Vegas Magazine, the Las Vegas Review Journal, and South Beach Magazine. He is painstakingly meticulous when performing and outfitting himself in his multiple colorful custom-designed Queen-era-style costumes.

JR Severn is an amazing Southern California vocalist in his own right, with numerous years of experience in a handful of Modern Rock projects, as well as fronting various bands and logging session work throughout Los Angeles. Severn’s unique vocal versatility, with off-the-charts vocal range, has been skillfully performing in various Modern Rock projects in and around Los Angeles over the last five years. He welcomed the challenge to sing Queen songs, as one of his all-time favorite bands when he began his musical career, was Queen fronted by Freddie Mercury.

Queen Legion is an authentic tribute rendition of the original four-piece band Queen. They utilize full harmonies along with multiple matching period Queen costumed attire. The performance showcases the bulk of Queen’s library of greatest hits, recreating an early vintage Queen concert format. The presentation is meant to be realistic, authentic, and reminiscent of the lost but not forgotten arena rock show, honoring and paying homage to one of the greatest lead performers, Freddie Mercury, and the band Queen, who are unquestionably one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Each member of the band is an established top-tier professional musician in their own right, having gained valuable stage experience in various other ongoing musical projects both past and present. Together, they harmonize as a unit like birds and perform with impeccable detail, paying homage and giving the respect due while honoring the music of Queen. The formation of Queen Legion came to fruition with one thought in mind: to supply concertgoers another opportunity to listen to music by arguably one of the greatest Iconic Arena rock bands of all time. The ultimate goal is to hopefully deliver and keep the music of Queen alive and strong for the numerous fans of all ages to enjoy for years to come. In summary, Queen Legion’s main objective is to simply expose and/or gain more fans to the music of Queen.

We hope you enjoy the show, as you will hear Queen’s timeless classics such as: Bohemian Rhapsody, Fat Bottomed Girls, Somebody To Love, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Killer Queen, Another One Bites The Dust, and many more.

Band Members: Lead singers: Fernando Castro or JR Severn- Guitar: Sean Vajra – Bass: Sheldon Bonada – Drums: Dieter Weinzettl. The great thing about this unit is that they have performed together in other musical projects over the years, and their mutual respect & their love for performing Queen music.

Stone Horse

Stone Horse is a Southern California based rock n roll outfit reminiscent of the 1970’s era festival bands. Fronted by songstress Dani Spade a’ la Joplin-Tyler, the live connection is what it’s all about.

It started in the summer of 2009, when La Jolla High Alumni, Dani Spade and Carlos Rodriguez put their musical heads together and wrote songs reminiscent of their early 70’s British and American rock influences. A catchy, driving 10-song album entitled “GRIT” ensued and was nominated “Best Rock Album” in 2014 by The San Diego Music Awards. Their southern rocker ballad “Remember When” received a nomination for “Best Rock Song” in 2015 by The Indie Music Channel.

Not unlike the neighborhoods that make up their city, the band’s second full-length studio release, “Nobody Rides For Free”, became a musical melting pot blending Blues, Rock, and even a bit o’ Country twang. However, doing what they do best at the end of the day, the result was good old rock ‘n’ roll. Their first single “Look What I’ve Done” was released as a music video in April 2016 and the album followed shortly in the fall.

Their next music video “Time To Say Goodbye” shot in the spring of 2017 and written by band member Jim Nau, won “Best Americana Song” by The Indie Music Channel Radio Awards, and was nominated “Best Americana video under $5000” at The 2018 Indie Music Channel Awards.

While their willingness to jam all night was making them a staple at the local bars, fairs and festivals around Southern California, the Spade/Rodriguez duo co-wrote songs with guitarist and producer Jim Nau for a new album entitled “Gotta Get Back” released in November 2018. Receiving a nomination for “Best Rock Album” of the year for 2018 by The San Diego Music Awards, “Gotta Get Back” delivers all those elements of what people define as rock ‘n’ roll…gospel, rock, country and blues.

The year 2020 provided the much needed time to square away a new bass player and write their latest album “Stone Horse IV” which was released in the summer of 2021 on vinyl, and two new music videos – “Losing My Way” which won best Special video at The 2021 Indie Music Channel Awards and “The Fastest Jack” followed. Their song “California Rain” also took home Best Rock Song at the Indie Music Channel Awards.

2024 brought the release of High Places, a 5 song EP whose song Cherry Devout won best rock producer and was played on internet radio station in Munich, Germany.

Under the reins of Dani Spade, Stone Horse continues to broaden their sound while still remaining unique to their own unformulaic brand of rock ‘n’ roll.

Junior Brown

With his unique voice, more unique song writing, and even more unique double necked “Guit-Steel” guitar, there has absolutely never been ANYONE like Junior Brown. He’s an American Original. Born in 1952 in Cottonwood, Arizona, Junior Brown showed an affinity for music at an early age when the family moved to a rural area of Indiana near Kirksville. In the following years, Junior began to experience Country music and remembers it as “growing up out of the ground like the crops – it was everywhere; coming out of cars, houses, gas stations and stores like the soundtrack of a story, but Country music programs on TV hadn’t really come along much yet; not until the late fifties.” Discovering a guitar in his grandparent’s attic, he spent the next several years woodshedding with records and the radio. Junior was also able to tap into music he couldn’t hear at home which older, college aged kids were listening to. This was possible due to his father’s employment at small campuses throughout the next decade as the family moved twice again. As a young boy he was able to experience the thrill of performing before live audiences, at parties, school functions even singing and playing guitar for five thousand Boy Scouts at an Andrews Air Force Base jamboree; then while still a teenager, getting the chance to sit in with Rock and Roll pioneer, Bo Diddley. Armed with this broad spectrum of influences, he began to develop a storehouse of musical chops.

Early on, Junior realized he had to keep his interest in Country music a secret; “it was like a secret friend I carried around, being careful not to tell anyone (especially girls) about my love for it because I thought they would laugh at me.” It wasn’t until the late 1960’s that Junior Brown would proudly explore the passion for the music he had loved since his early childhood in Indiana. With many prominent figures as his inspiration (Country legends, some who he would work with years later), he spent his nights in small clubs across the southwest. “I played more nights in honkytonks during the Seventies and Eighties than most musicians will see in a lifetime… I did so many years of that, night after night, four sets a night, fifteen minute breaks; I mean after that, you’ve gotta get good or you gotta get out. The early 1970’s California Country dance club scene was particularly competitive, but I learned professionalism and stage demeanor which has served me well to this day.” More recently however, Junior has shown himself to be equally adept at a wide variety of American music styles beyond Country. These include Rock and Roll, Blues, Hawaiian, Bluegrass and Western Swing.

There is a dependable consistency in Junior’s writing style (he writes nearly all his material) yet he’s always full of pleasant surprises. Though Junior always knew he could sing and play what he wanted, he had yet to explore his potential as a songwriter. “I realized no one was going to walk into a club and discover me…so I started hanging out with some songwriters who I’d played some jobs with, and they showed me how to support myself by writing and publishing.” With his writing coming together by the mid-Eighties, Brown upgraded his gear in a way that no artist had ever done. Struggling through each show, going back and forth plugging and unplugging guitar to steel guitar while singing, he had a dream one night about the two instruments mysteriously melding into one. The result was Brown’s unique invention, the “Guit-Steel”, a double necked instrument combining standard guitar with steel guitar. Built by Michael Stevens of Stevens Electric Instruments, the Guit-Steel allows Junior to switch instruments quickly in mid song while singing. According to Brown, his guitar and steel guitar playing became more his own around this time, with less imitation of others and more his own original ideas and licks. This maturation coincided with the development of a completely “Junior Brown” style of songwriting which employs subtle dry wit to some songs – others can be more overtly humorous, or just plain dead serious; like his playing, there is a wide range of styles that when combined can only spell Junior Brown.

Creed Fisher

Creed Fisher

“The odds were against me all along, but I just wouldn’t go away.” Country music rebel, Creed Fisher, defied the odds, going from rock bottom to chart-topping on his own terms independently. Like a steely-eyed gunslinger from a Sergio Leone western, he is a man of few words and lets his music tell his story. Fisher’s songwriting harkens back to the roots of genuine outlaw country music, taking listeners back to a place and time when the fine art of storytelling flowed effortlessly. While that element seems to have gotten lost in the glitzy slush of modern times, he’s never been one to sell his soul to the trends. Keeping it real means writing songs that real people can relate to; the good, bad and even the ugly. “A big part of my music is patriotic and for the working class. I relate to my music because I lived it.” Now, Fisher ups the ante, joining forces with renegade record label Dirt Rock Empire, for the highly-anticipated release of his newest album, Whiskey and The Dog, which he promises, “A rollercoaster of emotions; laughs, cheers with drinks and songs that will make you want to cry.” Unapologetic, patriotic and passionate, the album stays true to Creed Fisher’s unwavering form, speaking to and for his fans. “People will be like,’I’m glad he said that’ and ‘He said things I wanna say but can’t say.

Lane Smith

Country singer Lane Smith is no stranger to hard living and hard work—raised just north of San Antonio in Spring Branch, Texas, he grew up rodeoing as a bullfighter; the overlap between country music and rodeo culture is strong, and well-documented—the sport isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s stretches away from home, from loved ones, with long, dirty hours and no guarantee of a payoff not that different than playing shows on the road or that far removed from the idea of embarking on an independent career in country music that you plan to build from the ground up. But that’s exactly what Smith has done.

Smith released his first EP in 2018 and another in 2021, with singles earning more than a million plays on all platforms. His catchy blend of country music “will chill you to the bones while you’re tappin’ your feet,” as his song “Big Show” exclaims. He’s also already crossed off a few of his bucket-list venues, including the legendary Gruene Hall, along with supporting slots with artists like Kyle Park, Matt Stell, Colt Ford and Chase Matthews, to name just a few.

Smith is planning to quickly embark on the next phase of things: following additional singles this year, including “I Can’t Sleep,” which has already garnered extensive plays on streaming services, he’ll finally release his debut full-length album on July 14, 2023.

“Everything seems like a dream until you’re actually living it,” he says. “You start to see tiny bits of success through the trials and tribulations. You start gaining true genuine fans, you watch your stats start climbing and you’d be a fool to even think of stopping. I strive to get better every day, and stay getting better every day.” It’s impossible not to believe him

Moonshine Bandits

Backwoods bravado, patriot’s pride, country soul, keg-thumping beats — these are the qualities that Moonshine Bandits have championed since they began their journey. Armed with a hybrid arsenal of country and hip hop fusion, the California duo of Dusty ‘Tex’ Dahlgren and Brett ‘Bird’ Brooks are back with the grittiest, spirited and distinctly grass-roots release of their sixteen year campaign of musical badassery – “Gold Rush.”

Since their formation in Los Banos California in 2003 the Moonshine Bandits have continued a campaign of crossover genre-bending musical mayhem that appeals to the eclectic, color-outside-the-lines tastes of listeners, aka The Shiners, and they fiercely refuse to have their tastes confined and filed into categories. “Our musical style has always been full throttle and in your face,” says Moonshine Bandit Tex. Just like the rumrunners, bootleggers, smugglers and outlaws of old – the Moonshine Bandits provide a supply of the goods for the demand, defying the mandates and trends of mainstream pop culture.

Farm Truck

Combine a bit of Tom Petty, Steve Earle and Honky Tonk Rolling Stones, you come up with the sound of Farm Truck. One of San Diego’s best and most exciting new Americana bands.

Eric Gales

Eric Gales grew up in a musical family with four brothers, two of them who learned to play the guitar upside down and left-handed in the same fashion that Eric does. Eric released his first record at Age 16 for Elektra records to an amazing response from the media and music fans around the globe. Guitar World Magazine’s Reader’s Poll named Eric as “Best New Talent,” in 1991. After recording a second record for Elektra, all three brothers teamed up for The Gales Bros. “Left Hand Brand” which was recorded for the House of Blues label in 1996.

Through the years, it would not be unusual to look out in the audience and see artists like Carlos Santana, Eric Johnson, B. B. King, and Eric Clapton, looking on with interest as Eric took his guitar and worked crowd after crowd into a frenzy. The new millennium presented fresh opportunities for Eric. He was signed to a deal with Nightbird Records which was affiliated with the Hendrix family and distributed through MCA/Universal. Under this deal, Eric recorded the critically acclaimed record “That’s What I Am” in 2001 and hit the road, mesmerizing fans around the world with his uncanny connection to his guitar.

As both an African-American left-handed guitarist of extraordinary ability and an expressive vocalist, it is natural for people to compare Eric to Hendrix. But Eric has developed a unique hybrid blues/rock sound that also draws upon influences as diverse as Albert King and Frank Gambale. A unique amalgam of styles, Eric Gales stands head and shoulders among other guitarists in his genre.
