Jackyl

It’s been 25 years since Jackyl shot out of Georgia with its wild, untamed and uncouth approach to rock ‘n’ roll. Equal parts hard rock, heavy metal and Southern rock, Jackyl formed in 1991 and brought back rock ‘n’ roll back — back to its down-to-earth, wild, fun-loving origins. Full of spit and swagger — and a “dirty” sense of humor to boot — Jackyl quickly earned a deal with Geffen Records. Jackyl’s live shows were already legendary before the ink dried on the Geffen contract.

The 1992 self-titled debut album went platinum and featured notable rock radio hits like “Down On Me,” “When Will It Rain,” “I Stand Alone” and, most notably, “The Lumberjack,” during which vocalist Jesse James Dupree performed a chain-saw solo. Dupree’s chain-saw escapades on album and in concert became one of many Jackyl trademarks. With the release of ‘Jackyl’ hit the road and barely left it since. Just long enough to record new albums. Touring mates in those early days included Aerosmith, Kiss, ZZ Top, Ted Nugent and Damn Yankees. 1993 saw “Mental *@%.!” featured on ‘The Beavis & Butt-head Experience,’ a compilation album of songs tied in with MTV’s hit cartoon series; it was eventually certified triple platinum. 1994 was one of the most important years in the band’s career. The second album, ‘Push Comes To Shove,’ hit the streets and went gold. That August, Jackyl turned in one of the most acclaimed performances at Woodstock ’94 in Saugerties, NY, and the resulting double album ‘Woodstock 94’ went platinum and included “Headed For Destruction” (a track from ‘Push Comes To Shove’). The live recording ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ was released exclusively in Europe on Mayhem Records in 1996.

It wasn’t long before Jackyl followed A&R legend John Kalodner (who had signed them to Geffen) to Sony Music’s imprint Epic Records. ‘Cut the Crap’ was released in 1997 and benefited from two industry heavyweights overseeing its recording: producer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) and mixer Kevin Shirley (silverchair, Aerosmith). This album spawned the rock radio hit “Locked and Loaded,” which included guest vocals by AC/DC’s Brian Johnson. It was the first time Johnson had ever recorded with any artist but AC/DC since he joined the band 17 years earlier. A collection of B-sides titled ‘Stayin’ Alive’ appeared on Shimmering Tone Records in 1998 but the biggest highlight of the year was Geffen’s release of the best-of collection ‘Choice Cuts’ and the related promotional events Jackyl did to help promote it.

The band earned two Guinness Book of World Records citations and the designation “The Hardest Working Band in Rock ‘N’ Roll” for performing 100 shows in 50 days as well as 21 shows in 24 hours. Dupree says the most grueling of the two was 21 shows in 24 hours; Jackyl completed that task in Texas, and the shows were all done with full lights and sound. The daytime sets were 45 minutes long whereas the ones done at nighttime were between 90 and 120 minutes long. Jackyl released ‘Relentless’ on Humidity Records in 2002. It contained the second collaboration with Brian Johnson, “Kill the Sunshine.” Universal Music/Geffen Records also issued a Jackyl volume as part of its acclaimed ’20th Century Masters – The Millennium Collection’ best-of series in 2003. For a band that built its reputation as road warriors, it’s surprising that a full-length live album meant for worldwide release did not appear until 2004 with the separate release of the ‘Live at the Full Throttle Saloon’ CD and DVD on Sanctuary Records. ‘Live at the Full Throttle Saloon’ was recorded and filmed in summer 2003 in Sturgis, South Dakota, as part of the legendary annual biker rally festivities held there.

In 2010, the band completed their release titled “My Moonshine Kicks Your Cocaine’s Ass”. Staying true to their working band roots, ever since 2008 Jackyl has been on the road playing the summer festival circuit as well as many other choice, off-season venues.

Kanan Road Band

Formed by brothers Kanan Cox, Kyle Cox & Kory Cox, this southern tinged rock band Kanan Road has enjoyed over 20 years of success playing stages all over the U.S. The brothers formed the band as teenagers living in Southern California, first emulating their biggest influences, which consist of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Brothers, Jackson Browne, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many others. The band name Kanan Road, which is an actual road in Malibu, California, was chosen as an ode to their father & mentor, Kevin Cox, who used to take the winding Kanan Rd. to get down to the Malibu coast to surf every day as a teen. With heavy influence from their dad, the brothers began writing and recording their own songs in the early 2000’s and have been performing at least 100 shows per year for the last decade.

Together with fellow members Bruce James on Bass and Jake Herzberg on Drums, Kanan Road delivers high-octane, in-your-face live performances filled with stellar 3-part vocal harmonies, kickass guitar riffs, combined with their 70’s classic rock flavored original songs that sound refreshingly nostalgic, real & raw.

Kanan Road has shared stages with hit rockers like Blue Oyster Cult, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Molly Hatchet, along with many country music stars like Trace Adkins, Lonestar, Love & Theft, Chase Bryant, Gloriana, The Band Perry, Scotty McCreery, Joe Nichols, Easton Corbin, and Josh Gracin at venues that have ranged from The House of Blues to the world famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. The band released their newest album “Feed My Fire” in 2017, which is available on cd or digital download on iTunes & CDBaby. Kanan Road is the real deal. Real songs, real instruments, real players, real music! Stay tuned for new music soon, as the band will be heading back into the studio to record their newest release sometime in 2021.

They have released five studio, one live and one covers album to a growing army of fans worldwide and are praised by the global media in an era where Rock has been declared dead time and time again.

The band’s DNA includes an amazing collective of players that includes John Corabi, Marco Mendoza, Richard Fortus, Dizzy Reed, Frank Ferrer, Darryl Jones, Charley Drayton, Deen Castronovo and Jon Stevens amongst others. They’ve also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Rock including Kiss, Guns N‘ Roses, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Bad Company, Whitesnake, ZZ Top and the Hollywood Vampires.

The Daisies have started the next chapter welcoming new band member Glenn Hughes. Also known as “The Voice Of Rock“, Glenn has taken over lead vocals and bass guitar, joining guitarists Doug Aldrich, David Lowy along with the monstrous, hardhitting, powerhouse drummer, Tommy Clufetos (Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne) who has returned to the line-up for 2021.

With the addition of Glenn Hughes, The Daisies supercharge their front line through his rock solid bass grooves and unmatched vocal intensity. As all fans know, the man is a true original, inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, with a rich history of music that features heavy weights like Deep Purple and Black Country Communion as well as a successful solo career. One might say: “They don’t build rockers like him anymore”.

Followers can expect more High-Voltage Rock songs, indomitable grooves and spellbinding lyrics, all the ingredients that have made this music so timeless, out-living trends of the modern day. The sound of The Dead Daisies is entrenched in the Hard Rock way of life we all love but as a living, breathing rock band, they are constantly evolving & bringing new dynamics to a classic style.

Don Jamieson

Don is best known as co-host of VH1 Classic’s hit heavy metal talk show series, That Metal Show where legends of rock hang out to discuss their past and current projects in front of a live studio audience. He also co-hosted Beer Money, a fast-paced, non-traditional sports quiz show airing on SNY (SportsNet NY) and is currently hosting his own rock/comedy hybrid That Jamieson Show on CompoundMedia.com.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Jamieson’s 3 stand-up CD’s ‘Live & Hilarious’, ‘Hell Bent For Laughter’ and ‘Communication Breakdown’ on Metal Blade Records all hit the Top 20 on iTunes and Top 10 on the Billboard comedy charts. He is proudly sponsored by Monster Energy Drinks and True Religion clothing.

Jamieson’s proudest moment is becoming an Emmy Award-Winner for his work on HBO’s ‘Inside The NFL’. Don and long-time comedy partner, Jim Florentine, lent their brand of humor to the popular sports show; writing, producing and performing sports-themed comedy sketches.

The two have also collaborated on the hidden-camera DVD and Comedy Central web series, ‘Meet The Creeps’ as well as a series of prank call CD’s, ‘Terrorizing Telemarketers’, heard regularly on the SiriusXM comedy channels. He also spent many years as Andrew Dice Clay’s steady opener.

Don’s stand-up act brings his everyday take on life with an added dash of sarcasm for good measure. He’s able to make people laugh at things they wouldn’t normally laugh at and then laugh again at that realization. Besides performing in comedy clubs and theaters all over the country he also performs stand-up on rock tours and at rock festivals such as Rock On The Range, Monsters Of Rock Cruise and Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival where he was introduced by
drummer Lars Ulrich.

The Black Moods

THE BLACK MOODS play raw, amplified rock & roll and are known for their galvanizing live performance which has seen them appear alongside acts such as The Doors’ Robbie Krieger, Shinedown, Jane’s Addiction, Whitesnake, Collective Soul and The Gin Blossoms.

Born in the Arizona desert and reared on stages across North America, the band delivers a fresh, fiery update of a timeless sound. The trio—consisting of vocalist/guitarist JOSH KENNEDY, drummer CHICO DIAZ and bassist JORDAN HOFFMAN–share a story of success and growth despite a global pandemic and amidst all odds working against them. Refusing to postpone the May 2020 release of their critically acclaimed sophomore album SUNSHINE, THE BLACK MOODS went full steam ahead, marking several career highlights along the way including their first-ever Top 20 Billboard Active Rock charting single, title track “Sunshine,” which peaked at #16, and a cover feature with their hometown local weekly newspaper, Phoenix New Times (May 7, 2020). The album, recorded at a makeshift studio in the band’s rehearsal space with Grammy- nominated producer Johnny K (Disturbed, 3 Doors Down), generated three additional album singles which made the Top 30 charts including “Bad News” (#24), “Bella Donna” (#29) and “Whatcha Got (#30).

While live music was at a halt, THE BLACK MOODS packed up their studio and moved it to the Ozarks, hometown of KENNEDY, and set up their studio in the home of their label owners, Steelhorse Entertainment while reenlisting Johnny K. to track their next full-length release due later this year. During this time, the band also remotely recorded a single with legendary producer Eddie Kramer (Led Zeppelin, The Beatles), released a heartwarming music video for their ballad “Home” and shared a fiery cover of their idol Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1978 track “I Need To Know,” which received airplay on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio show.

Can’t you feel it coming? EMPIRE! Can’t you hear it coming? EMPIRE! Here comes 2020 and that sound you hear and vibration you feel is GEOFF TATE and his band, Operation: Mindcrime, gearing up for their forthcoming tour of America beginning next spring that will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of EMPIRE. Released in August of 1990, the album spawned six singles (“Empire,” “Silent Lucidity,” “Best I Can,” “Jet City Woman,” “Another Rainy Night (without you)” and “Anybody Listening?”) and is Queensryche’s bestselling album to date with sales over three million units, achieving triple-platinum status.

GEOFF and the band — currently comprised of Kieran Robertson on guitar, Jack Ross on bass, Scott Moughton on guitar and Felix Bohnke on drums — will be performing all eleven songs from the album back-to-back, in its entirety. And to throw it completely over the top, the forthcoming shows will be kicked off by a complete performance of Queensryche’s second studio album, Rage for Order, another eleven song gem that featured the singles, “Gonna Get Close to You,” “The Whisper” and “Walk in the Shadows.” Just a few years after its release in the summer of ’86, Kerrang! magazine called it one of the “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All-Time.”

That’s right, both “Rage for Order” and “Empire” all in one night!

Kurt Deimer

To call him a Renaissance man would be a bit melodramatic, but in the few short years since – armed with an inability to take no for an answer, a drive to constantly improve his craft, and an insatiable desire to network and keep expanding his rolodex – Kurt Deimer has filmed a feature length movie aimed to launch his ‘Hellbilly Hollow’ horror franchise, recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge, whose credits include Green Day, Joe Cocker, James Brown and the Rolling Stones, and is co-managed by Andy Gould, the former manager of Rob Zombie and Guns N Roses.

America will meet his missives this fall, when Kurt Deimer supports Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that will highlight material from the forthcoming EP, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence.

Pet Shark

Pet Shark is a progressive rock, instrumental band from Orange County, California featuring and co-founded by Keith Moreland on guitar, and Ted Morton on drums, percussion, keyboards and other various sound effects.

Bass Guitarist Matt Bissonette recorded on the first and second album, but because of his busy recording and touring schedule (with Elton John), he is not able to join the band for the live shows. So they’ve been joined by bass guitarist Russ Reshaw who has been on the road with the band Two or More for the last ten years, playing over 120 dates per year. Russ has also performed with Bobby Kimball, former lead singer of the band Toto. Russ is an amazing bass player, but best of all, he’s a great guy. The band is very pleased to have him.

They are all seasoned professionals both in the studio and at live performances. Collectively, they have played with such musicians as Crystal Lewis, Dennis Agajanian, Darryl Mansfield, John and Anne Barbour, Steve Camp, Terry Clark, Two or More, Bryan Duncan, Bobby Kimball, and countless others.

This show has been rescheduled from the original date in 2020.

Last In Line – The original Dio band

Last In Line was formed in 2011, when Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain, and Vivian Campbell, (Ronnie James Dio’s co-conspirators and co-writers on the “Holy Diver”, “Last In Line” – the album from which they took their name, and “Sacred Heart” albums) teamed up with esteemed vocalist Andrew Freeman. The debut album “Heavy Crown” was released in February 2016, landing at #1 on the Billboard Heat-Seekers Chart. Initially, the release had been preceded by tragedy when bassist Jimmy Bain unexpectedly passed away at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016.  Last In Line, honoring what they knew would be Bain’s wish to keep the band moving, brought in renowned bassist Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne) and committed to sustained touring in support of the album, hitting festivals, headlining clubs, and sharing the stage with metal luminaries such as Saxon and Megadeth.

In late 2017, the band gathered in L.A. to start the recording of the second album, which was produced by the band members and Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, The End: machine, ex-Dokken), who also produced the debut album. Having really gelled as a band while touring in support of the debut album, the songwriting came readily to the members. They’ve created a record that shows a big progression in sound, while immediately being recognizable as Last In Line thanks to Vinny Appice’s rhythms, thunderous bass from Soussan, amazing vocals from Andrew Freeman, and the roaring guitars of Vivian Campbell.

“The musical style of ‘II’ is different from ‘Heavy Crown’, but it wasn’t something that we planned to do,” explains Vivian Campbell. “Phil is a more intricate player than Jimmy was and that, together with the natural growth and development of the band led us to the songs on the album. As always, we simply started to jam on ideas and see where they led us. But it’s fair to say that the songs on this album sound more developed, with more parts and more experimentation than the songs on ‘Heavy Crown’. The first album set a tone, but on ‘II’ we developed that idea and took it to the next logical stage.”

Drummer Vinny Appice, on the sound of the new record and song writing process, says “I always sound like me. Viv and I have been playing together for years and have the same feel and pulse and attitude. Now with Phil on bass, he allows a more melodic approach on the bass parts making the songs even more interesting. He fits in perfectly being from the same musical family and time as me and Viv. Mr. Freeman sings from his soul and completes the band’s sound with his melodies and amazing range.”

Sledd

Sledd is a five piece, hard hitting, Heavy-Alternative, Album Orientated Rock, Musical Group from San Diego, CA. The Band was founded by Lead Vocalist/Frontman Cary Rothman, Keyboardist/Vocalist Peter DeLuke Jr and Brother/Drummer Dino DeLuke in March of 1995.

Sledd has played with, opened for, or toured with such legendary Hard Rock Musical Groups as: Tesla, Great White, The Bullet Boys, Gilby Clarke, Blue Oyster Cult, Dokken, Quiet Riot, Queensryche, Ratt, LA Guns, UFO, Skid Row, Cinderella and Y&T.

Their latest and third Album “Insane Laughter” has received National Airplay in several United States Cities. In April/May 2009, Sledd members along with Executive Producer and Tesla Bassist Brian Wheat recorded a four song EP at “J” Street Studios in Sacramento, CA. All four cuts later appeared on the self produced Sledd CD “Insane Laughter”. Sledd’s second Album ”Crooked Smiles” was produced by Great White Guitarist Mark Kendall. Kendall also managed the Band from 2001 – 2003.

Taz Taylor

Taz Taylor was exposed at a very early age to the golden era of Rock Guitar playing. Michael Schenker in UFO and then in his own band MSG, Gary Moore in his late-70s/early-80s heyday, Randy Rhoads and Jake E. Lee and of course the early Van Halen albums, all left an indelible mark on the musical psyche of Taz.
