Brand new for 2011, ‘Alma Vieja’ is the latest CD from guitar virtuoso Russ Hewitt. Replete with the rumba flamenco rhythms and lightning guitar runs that have become trademarks of his distinctive style ‘Alma Vieja’ also includes a stellar line up of backing musicians. Former Miami Sound Machine percussionist Raphael Padilla and drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr (who in his time has played with both Santana and Ricky Martin) are both around to lend a hand and are joined by bass player Bob Parr and exciting flamenco guitar prodigy Alfredo Caceres. Other significant contributions come from the Grammy award-winning violinist Charlie Bisharat (who has graced the stage with heavyweights such as The Rolling Stones, Yanni and Aerosmith) and, perhaps most notably, contemporary jazz saxophonist Michael Lington who features on the first single released to radio, the easy grooving ‘Pacific Sunrise’, which has already made the Top 40 on the Smooth Jazz charts.

It was in late 2008 that Hewitt released his debut CD ‘Bajo el Sol’. Typified by fierce Latin rhythms and infectious contemporary jazz grooves the album garnered the kind of critical acclaim to suggest this talented player was already on the road to musical stardom.

Hewitt firmly believes that as a guitar player he is the accumulation of everything he has previously learned. Consequently he feels an immense affinity with the music that he writes. ‘Bajo el Sol’ translates literally to ‘Under The Sun’ and since the release of the album Hewitt has found that, for him, the sun has never stepped shining. Now, with ‘Alma Vieja’, it is certain that the warm glow of attention will once again be very much on Russ Hewitt.

The band was formed in 1988 by Georg Dolivo (guitars and lead vocals), Greg Fields (guitar), Reeve Downes (bass guitar), and Rick Kubach (drums). This lineup played the Los Angeles rock scene for a year with contemporaries such as Junkyard, The Four Horsemen, Rage Against the Machine and others. Warner Brothers signed the band in 1989 and they released their self-titled debut album in 1990 with Liam Jason (Warrior) on drums.

Their second album, 1992’s Get Used To It, was recorded in Memphis with producer Terry Manning. The album contained “Ride With Yourself” which was featured in the hit movie Wayne’s World. In 1993, drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio) joined the band and appeared on the 1994 album Pain. The band continued extensive touring, but by 1996 the band went on what turned out to be an extended hiatus.

The bands latest album “Who’s Got Mine?” was released in January 2011 to enthusiastic reviews by both press and fans. The band then embarked on two European tours making 71 appearances most notably at the Sweden Rock Festival where they played for over 10,000 fans. Currently Rhino Bucket is working on their newest record for an early 2012 drop date.

At first glance, Wild Willy’s girth could send some of societies most decadent citizens scampering for their lives, but instead he entertains them with a fresh and positive reflection about their preconceived ideas of the “stereotypical” bikers image.

Wild Willy is a natural performer who’s presence onstage commands attention while evoking laughter from his audience without reaching all the way into the slime bag for his material. After seeing him live, you will never look at a biker the same way again.

Dialog Project

We are a new Jazz/Fusion band called the Dialog Project and we are the premier band of San Diego and beyond. Our tunes are pre-arranged grooves that allow us to have a dialog within the realm of each groove based on the emotions, thoughts and aspirations of each moment within each moment of that groove. This allows us to have the freedom to perform each tune differently each performance according to that particular moment in time.
