Anna Nalick
Anna Nalick is a platinum selling singer and songwriter from California. In addition to writing all of her own music, Anna has been writing for other artists since the age of 15.
Starting in 2005, Anna released her first studio produced album, entitled: “Wreck of the Day,” featuring the hit single “Breathe (2AM)” under the SonyMusic label. The song propelled to the top of the charts and sent Anna on a nearly four year tour around the world. Featuring her third hit single “Shine,” Anna and SonyMusic released “The Shine EP.” Both “Wreck of the Day” and “The Shine EP” can still be heard widely on radio and television today, with “Breathe” being featured twice on the hit television drama “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Wanting to pursue a musical style free of label influence, Anna decided to part ways with SonyMusic in 2010 and in 2011, released her first independently produced album: “Broken Doll & Odds & Ends.” Anna describes the album as: “mostly acoustic with haunting and unusual instrumentation. I wanted to release the songs I wrote while I was with Sony before I move on to all new material. I liked the songs too much to just leave them all behind. Now I’m ready to explore new territory.”
Curtis Peoples
Curtis Peoples is a pop artist and singer/songwriter with a defined understanding of how to create dynamic yet radio friendly music that fans of both rock and pop can enjoy equally.
Curtis’ self titled first album was produced by Marshall Altman (Matt Nathanson, Kate Voegele, Marc Broussard) and featured songs co-written by Curtis and writers such as Ryan Tedder, Tyler Hilton, and Vic Fuentes. Marshall even liked the finished product so much that he decided to put the album out on his very own Galtline/The Control Group/ADA label.
Alaina Blair
For this young singer/songwriter, writing and performing is the ultimate form of expression. Alaina: “writing a song from an emotion or a real experience and then performing that song to an audience is like a dream come true in itself!” Alaina Blair has been performing since at the age of 5 when her Grandfather built her a stage to sing from. Soon she began singing at festivals and pageants in her native Arizona as well as Southern California.
Alaina describes her music as Country/Americana with some rock and soulful influences. Recently, her self titled album was nominated for Best Americana Album Of The Year at The San Diego Music Awards. It also won Best Country Album at The 2013 LA Music Critic Awards. Her current influences include Grace Potter, Joss Stone, Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow. She met producer/musician Billy Alexander (FEEL, John Waite) in the summer of 2011 and the two began to write a batch of songs that later become Alaina’s debut EP entitled “Gypsy Girl” (available on iTunes and physical CD). Alaina released her latest full length self titled album in March 2013. Alaina and Billy wrote the first song with Ron Blair of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
Sometimes Julie
Sometimes Julie features the singer-songwriter duo Monica Sorenson and Rick Walker.
The duo’s first encounter was in a dive karaoke bar, where ordinarily nothing good happens. Despite these shady origins, and while talking in between songs, the two learned that Rick’s head was full of music needing lyrics, and Monica’s words were longing for a song. This collaboration has given birth to their debut CD, HEAD FIRST, delivering fourteen powerful tracks.
Rick’s musical career began in the mid 90’s playing in clubs on the north side of Chicago. Blues, classic rock and alternative rock influences inspire both his songwriting and performance. A self-taught musician on guitar, bass, and keyboards, Rick’s music creates the foundation for the sound of Sometimes Julie. He is the backbone of the band.
Monica, a self-diagnosed karaoke addict, found herself looking for that next fix, craving gutsy rock songs and powerful ballads. She grew up in Denver, in a household of talented musicians, and appreciated all types of music. However, Monica chose to study and write poetry as her art form. Upon meeting Rick she became inspired to blend her two loves, her words and music. She now writes and sings lead for Sometimes Julie.
Joined by Andy Graham (drums), Andrew Yurman (bass), and Fred Barden (lead guitar), Sometimes Julie performs Americana/alternative rock originals, with the occasional classic rock/current pop cover tossed in for fun. Their sexy, raw sound and driving beat stir up everyone’s passionate side. You will want to move your feet!
