Sky Academy was founded by Uli Jon Roth, German born guitarist and composer extraordinaire. Revered by musicians around the world for his groundbreaking achievements on the guitar he has frequently been likened to being a true ‘renaissance man’, because of his artistic scope and knowledge. While being among the most important and most unique originators of the electric guitar, Uli is artistically firmly rooted in classical music. He has a deep understanding of classical philosophy as well as Eastern teachings and applies this knowledge in his approach to music and art in general.
Uli has always been fascinated by learning and teaching and has found unusual, but highly effective ways to achieve mastery over almost any chosen subject. Sky Academy is designed to share some of this knowledge and at the same time to be a force of inspiration and discovery.
Sky Academy keeps its main emphasis on the guitar, but included in the teaching will also be a close look at how players of other musical instruments are achieving results. This is designed to broaden the student’s overall musical awareness.
