Chad Prather

Chad Prather was entertaining audiences on television as early as two years old. The desire to be onstage started early. He began acting at the age of 6 and by the age of 20 he was traveling all over the world – from Africa to Southeast Asia, from Russia to Central America – using his communication skills to influence international leaders with humor and inspiration. Eventually Prather’s communication skills opened doors for him to move into the corporate arena of motivational speaking and writing.

Prather is known for his way with words. He is a comedian, armchair philosopher, musician, and observational humorist. He is often referred to as “the modern day Will Rogers.” He is a fast-talking combination of Lewis Grizzard and Jeff Foxworthy. Originally from Augusta, GA Chad now calls the Fort Worth, TX area home. He grew up working with horses (an industry he is actively involved in) and is often recognized by his ever-present cowboy hat. His social media viral video are counted in the hundreds of millions. Many recognize him from his fast talking, rapid fire rants from the front seat of his truck. CNN has labeled him the “Pick-up Pundit” and Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has called Prather, “supernaturally articulate.” He is known for his comedic family stories told from an adult perspective onstage.

Cody Canada and the Departed

Cody Canada & The Departed is a three-piece Americana roots-rock band based in New Braunfels, Texas. The band is comprised of frontman Cody Canada, bassist Jeremy Plato, and drummer Eric Hansen.

Canada and Plato–bandmates since the inception and through the dissolution of former rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed–join forces with drummer Hansen to round out The Departed. The result is poignant, thoughtfully crafted songs delivered with bold guitars, boomy bass lines and plenty of muscle. The new iteration of The Departed offers concert-goers a well-rounded sonic experience: the Red Dirt ghosts from Canada’s upbringing; the re-emergence of favored Cross Canadian Ragweed tunes; plus a revival of classic country gold from Plato-led vocals.

The Departed is maintaining their foothold as a frontrunner in the Texas music scene while progressively gaining traction across the U.S. Their most recent release, “HippieLovePunk (2015,” received positive critical acclaim as a “Top 5 Best-Selling Album of 2015” (Lone Star Music), and produced the singles “InBetweener” and “All Nighter,” the latter reaching No. 1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report.

The Departed has released two additional albums since their formation: This Is Indian Land (2011) and Adventus (2012). Canada released two additional double-disc live acoustic records, “Some Old, Some New, Maybe A Cover Or Two,” (2013) and, “Chip and Ray, Together Again for the First Time,” (2015), both recorded at Third Coast Music in Port Aransas Texas. ‘Chip and Ray’ was recorded with longtime friend and producer, Mike McClure (The Great Divide).

Mickey and the Motorcars

Thirteen years can put a hell of a lot of wear and tear on even the hardiest of rock ’n’ roll bands. But don’t be fooled by all those hundreds of thousands of miles on Micky & the Motorcars’ odometer: pop the hood of Hearts From Above, the long-running Austin band’s seventh album, and you’ll find a brand-new engine, fine-tuned and good to run for at least as many more miles still ahead. And behind the wheel? Two brothers — Micky and Gary Braun — who by their own admission haven’t been this fired up about playing together since they first rode south from the Whitecloud Mountains of Idaho to stake their claim to the Texas and wider Americana music scenes.

Of course, that’s not to say that the years between then and now have been fallow for Micky & the Motorcars, who have spent the last decade and change establishing themselves as one of the exciting young roots-rock bands in the “Live Music Capital of the World”and growing their fanbase through constant touring and a fistful of increasingly confident releases. But Hearts From Above finds founding members Micky (lead vocals and guitar) and Gary (guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and vocals) invigorated and supercharged by a transfusion of new blood from fresh recruits Josh Owen (lead guitar, pedal steel guitar), Joe Fladger (bass), and Bobby Paugh (drums).

Farm Truck

Farm Truck is an Alt Country / Americana band from Ramona California.

Maoli / Dubbest

Maoli

MAOLI (meaning “Native” in Hawaiian) started in Maui with Glenn Awong, a 14- year-old with a passion for music, and Kana Akiu-Corpuz. Since then, the boys from Maoli started focusing more on sharing their music and passion with a bigger audience. Maoli had the pleasure to share with fans from the east to the west of the United States and an international crowd including Guam and Australia growing with fans with each show. Their music went on to play in parts of Europe, such as Germany, Italy and Scotland, Japan and others.

Dubbest

DUBBEST has been forging its own path through the heavily forested reggae landscape, expertly infusing roots traditionalism with a refreshing improvisational savvy that calls to mind not only the studio experimentation of pioneering dub producers Osbourne “King Tubby” Ruddock and Lee “Scratch” Perry but also the real-time exploration of jam bands like the Grateful Dead and Phish. As friends in high school, guitarist Andrew MacKenzie, singer/melodica player Ryan Thaxter , bassist Sean Craffey, guitarist Cory Mahoney, and drummer Kyle Hancock shared a love of pop-punk and ska, bonding over bands like Black Flag, until they caught wind of Augustus Pablo’s 1974 dub classic Ital Dub. This was the gamechanger that set the stage for their current musical approach: using introspective, spacious bass and drum grooves to anchor a thickly-textured interplay of instruments, vocals, and timbres. With their third album, Light Flashes, Dubbest is poised for national recognition.
